A love that crossed borders

Quinta Mireya was born from an unlikely encounter, two different worlds and a shared dream of creating a place that would feel like home.

Meet Isabel
& Miguel

Isabel, Portuguese with deep roots in the Alentejo, and Miguel, Mexican by birth with a German soul, found each other in one of those moments that seem written by destiny.

They came from different places and followed different paths, yet shared the same way of looking at life: with curiosity, affection and the desire to create something that felt genuinely their own.

Quinta Mireya is the result of that meeting — a personal retreat shaped by their stories, their memories and their instinctive way of welcoming others.

A return to the Alentejo

For Isabel, the Alentejo has always been more than a place.

It is the scent of wild herbs, the silence of the plains and the memory of the people who taught her to live slowly and value what is authentic. It is home — and it is also her father’s land.

His early passing left an absence, but also a quiet strength: the desire to honour her roots and allow a new story to grow from them.

For Miguel, the dream had always been to create a small hotel where guests could be welcomed as friends — with warmth, simplicity and the comforting feeling of being at home.

He carried with him the memory of his mother, Mireya. Giving the Quinta her name became a way of keeping her close and bringing her spirit into every gesture of hospitality.

Nothing here was chosen without meaning

Every room and every corner of Quinta Mireya holds something of Isabel and Miguel — and something of the people who shaped them.

They did not want to follow a formula or create a place that felt like any other hotel. Instead, they chose objects with stories, colours that carry memories and details that simply made them smile.

Natural materials, personal pieces and the character of the Alentejo come together in spaces that feel collected over time rather than carefully staged.

Because true hospitality often lives in the smallest things: a thoughtful gesture, a familiar texture or a quiet moment that becomes a lasting memory.

A legacy transformed into welcome

Both the name and the land carry a deeper meaning.

Mireya honours Miguel’s mother, whose warmth remains present in the spirit of the Quinta. The Alentejo represents Isabel’s father and the roots that continue to guide her.

Quinta Mireya is Isabel and Miguel’s home, but it is also their parents’ legacy — transformed into light, welcome and new memories.

A home we are grateful to share
